It's a fitting tribute to one of the most recognizable lacrosse coaches in our area.
Sporting his trademark aviator sunglasses, F-M Head Coach Chris Kenneally went about his normal business in a 16-2 victory over Watertown IHC Saturday, but the win was anything but ordinary.
The victory marked the 300th for Coach Kenneally in his 22 years leading of the Hornets. Coach graciously accepted congratulations from players, coaches and media alike, but made sure we all knew who he feels deserves credit.
"What I've been blessed with, is a great coaching group." Kenneally said after earning win numberĀ 300.
"I'm talking our modified, freshman and JV Coaches. Along with the fellas that have worked with me over the years, Tommy Hall, Joey Bedell, Derek Reyna, Geoff Hall, my starting partner Billy Webster. I've always had good people to work with and it's been so much fun, and that's the joy, coming to practice, working with the young kids and watching them grow."
The Hornets, as always look great this season. And while the celebration ensued after the game, with the team holding signs of congratulations, Coach Kenneally was already doing what helped him win 300 games.
"Enjoy this one for 15 minutes." He told his team.
"After that, it's back to work to get #301".
