The Syracuse Crunch should be improved with some of the off-season signings the affiliate Anaheim Ducks have pulled off, but one aspect of their game should also be improved, and his name is Kyle Palmieri. Palmieri has no plans of getting caught up in a sophomore slump and has been thinking about training camp for much of the summer.

The Crunch forward, who scored 29 goals and added 22 assists in his rookie season, travelled to Syracuse from his home in New Jersey earlier this week to take part in the Crunch Golf Tournament. The former first round draft pick says he plans on picking up right where he left off last season.

"In the first year there was tons of ups and downs," explains Palmieri, "but that's one of the things I want to try and take out of my game, just be a more consistent player. That's more of a mental thing than physical I think . Just going into this season I've gotta take what I learned from the veterans last year, what I learned from experience last year and just try and put it all together."

"He finished off the season unbelievable," says defenseman Mat Clark, "everything that touched his stick went in the net. Hopefully he can keep that going, he's definitely got a lot of talent."
