Breanna Stewart has now helped her country win gold three times, and she hasn't even reached her senior year at C-NS High School yet. Team USA beat Spain 69-46 on Sunday night to win the FIBA Under 19 Women's World Basketball Championships. Stewart score 3 points and added 6 rebounds in the title game, but overall was named one of the top five all-stars of the tournament. Stewart's statistical highlight of the tournament was her double double against France in the quarterfinal, but there was not a dry eye in her aunt's North Syracuse home last night as family and friends watched her win USA gold.
"I'm just very proud of her," says her mother Heather, "we're just so excited and it was just a real honor for her to be able to represent the United States."
"It's the third time and it's just amazing," says her grandfather Jim Baldwin, "that she's able to do that and play for the team. They always have a good team, and here we are in North Syracuse and we have one of the best players in the country."
