The LaFayette Lancers have taken a step forward every year since its merger with the Fabius Pompey football program. The team was winless back in 2007, but has taken strides every year, even making Sectionals in 2009.

The goal this year is simple on two ends, the Lancers want a winning season, their first since the merger. Secondly, this year's senior class wants to go out with a winning record for their varsity careers, in order to do that, they need to go 7-2 in 2011.

If that wasn't enough motivation, the Lancers open up the season with their arch rivals from Tully, that game is set for Saturday September 3rd at LaFayette. That game, while it may just be the first of the season is huge on more than just the rivalry level. There's so many teams in Class C (four divisions) that every single game counts even more.
