Syracuse University football coach Doug Marrone may have said it best.
"History's not really on our side in this one" the 3rd year Orange Coach said in regards to Saturday's game with USC.
No Big East team has won at USC since 1957, another stat that Marrone pointed out to the media.
No question the Orange has its hands full with the Trojans on Saturday. USC's top shelf talent aside, the Orange hasn't won a game in California since a 1967 triumph over UCLA. The Orange is also 0-2 all time vs. the Trojans. USC, for what it's worth had battles in its first two games of the season as well, a 2-point win over Minnesota and a win over Utah on Saturday where a potential game tying field goal for the Utes was blocked.
USC Coach Lane Kiffin had high praise for the Orange and in particular the offense run by Marrone and Nathaniel Hackett, whose father, Paul, was the head coach at USC
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. Eastern time on the FX network with Gus Johnson handling play-by-play duties.
