The brand new SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College has seen a number on concerts, including Branford Marsalis and Barney the Dinosaur for the kids, but the Lazers finally got their housewarming party on Wednesday night. Both the OCC Men's and Women's basketball teams played their first game at the sixty-five thousand seat arena, the OCC men beating Tompkins Cortland 117-113, and the women taking their opponent from the same College 70-58. Head Coach Mike Wheeler admits the feel of the new 65-hundred seat arena took a while to get used to, but was happy his team pulled out the win on what was a special night for OCC basketball history and for the seniors in their last regular season home game.

"I think it was a great way to go out for them," said Wheeler after the game, "but it was an adjustment we had to make. In the end they got used to it and played well."

The # 2 Nationally ranked OCC Women improved to 24-3 with the win. They are now looking ahead to yet another chance to play at the SRC Arena come tourney time.
