After winning the SUNYAC championship for the first time since 1965, the Oswego State men's basketball team made their second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, and the Lakers started their tournament in dramatic fashion, defeating Endicott College of Massachusetts 72-71.
Endicott held the lead for much of the game, but Oswego State kept chipping away, and two Conor Monaghan foul shots tied the game at 66 at the end of regulation. Endicott's downfall was their lack of ball security, committing 20 turnovers in the loss. Senior and All-American Chad Burridge scored 30 points, grabbing 7 rebounds as well.
The Lakers move to the second round of the NCAAs for the second straight season, and will face Eastern Connecticut State University at 7pm on Saturday.
