The West Genesee Wildcats remained undefeated on Tuesday night with a 14-4 win over Auburn. While a very humble Mike Messere probably only cared that it was another win for his lacrosse team, it was also a special milestone for the legendary head coach. It was his 747th victory, tying him for the most wins for a head coach in the history of New York State.

"I'm excited for the kids, said Messere after the game, "I mean it's great for them to be involved in this. It's about the kids and really through the years some of these kids, I mean one group was around for 3 years and they won like 60 games".

"It's incredible to be part of that team," says senior midfielder Matt Schattner, "it's incredible to be the team that breaks it but it's not just us, it's everyone that's behind us for the last 30 years."

"It's great to know that all the alumni are supporting us," agrees Tim Barber who led the way on Tuesday with 5 goals and an assist, "to get the record for Coach, and they're all coming back to (see it) which is great to see."

West Genesee will host Oswego next on Thursday night, hoping to stay undefeated, and more importantly earn Coach Messere his record breaking victory.
