After a run to the championship series in 2011 the Auburn Doubledays are ready to go for another title in 2012. Auburn last won the New York-Penn League in 2007.

Auburn, the Single-A short season affiliate of the Washington Nationals, gets its season going on Monday at Batavia with the homer opener coming on Tuesday at Falcon Park.

And they'll kick off the season with the brother of a famous Nationals' organization player on the roster.

6'5" left handed pitcher Bryan Harper will play for Auburn this summer and as you may have guessed Bryan is the brother of outfielder Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals.

Bryan is very humble, when asked about his game he replied "I'm just a left-handed pitcher, who has to pound the strike zone".

There's certainly some irony that Bryan is starting his season in Auburn, as of course, Bryce also started his 2012 campaign in Central New York with the Syracuse Chiefs.

Bryan says his brother enjoyed his time in Central New York and he anticipates he will as well.
