A look at what's next for Central New Yorkers at the Olympics

As the Olympics hit their stride (literally and figuratively) Central New Yorkers have been captivated by athletes with local ties who have made their mark at the 2012 games.

Athletes like swimmer Dana Vollmer who was born in Syracuse set a world and olympic record on her way to gold and SU alum Carmelo Anthony who continues to be a force for Team USA mens basketball continue their quests for Olympic glory.

Here's a look at the upcoming events for Central New York athletes:

Wednesday

Ken Jurkowski (Cornell University) - Single Skulls- Semifinals

Dana Vollmer (Syracuse) - Womens Swimming- 4x200 meter final

Ryan Lochte (Rochester) - 200 meter backstroke semifinals

Thursday:

Ryan Lochte - 200 meter backstroke finals

Carmelo Anthony and Jim Boeheim - Team USA Men's Basketball vs. Nigeria

Meghan Musnicki (Ithaca College) -  Womens 8 Rowing Semifinals

Caryn Davies (Ithaca) - Womens 8 Rowing Semifinals

The U.S. boat will feature Davies andMuscniki. The U.S. eight have not lost in six years but will be in for a challenge against Team Canada, a boat that features Syracuse University rower Natalie Mastracci.

Friday:

Ken Jurkowski – Single skulls for medal

Caryn Davies – Womens eight for medal

Meghan Musnicki – Womens eight for medal

Abby Wambach (Rochester)- Womens Soccer qualifier

Saturday:

Sarah Groff (Cooperstown) - Thiathlon

Carmelo Anthony and Jim Boeheim - Team USA Men's Basketball vs. Lithuania

Ryan Lochte - swimming 4x100 medley
