As Former Syracuse Football coach Paul Pasqualoni prepares to return to the Carrier Dome this Friday night, the UConn head coach says he hasn't thought of it in any other way than a big game for the Huskies. This is Pasqualoni's first trip back to his old Syracuse stompin' grounds since he was fired in December of 2004 after 14 seasons with the Orange, and according to the Norwich Bulletin he isn't planning on getting too sentimental.
"This is a business trip. Really, all I can see is getting ready to play this game," Pasqualoni said this week. "We're not going up to Central New York to pick apples, ride on the hay wagon."
Coach P compiled a 107-59-1 record in his days with the Orange and ranks second at Syracuse in total victories. He also had a 6-3 mark in bowl games. He's now in his second season with the 3-4 Huskies, and says the Orange look like they'll be tough despite their 2-4 record.
"Their personnel looks very good," says Pasqualoni, "It's going to be a tough game. I'm sure they are disappointed in the number of wins they have, just like we are. But they are playing very hard and they are playing very solid football."
