There was lots more going on at Big East media day for Jim Boeheim than being picked to finish # 2 in the conference. A war of words between SU's Head Coach and Rick Pitino erupted after the Louisville Head Coach reportedly stated that Syracuse and Pittsbuirgh were making a big mistake leaving the Big East.

According to the Providence Journal, Pitino went so far as to say "I think it'll be just as good. Memphis and Temple will more than make up for Syracuse and Pittsburgh."

Boeheim reportedly snapped back when he was told of the comments. "Rick is full of it if that's what he really said," said Boeheim, "You think those schools are better than Syracuse for the Big East? Then you don't know what you're talking about and I think Rick's smarter than that. At least I thought he was."

Boeheim also questioned Pitino's loyalty to the Big East Conference saying, "If he was in the Big 12 like he wanted to be right now, he'd be saying the Big 12 was better. That's the bottom line."
