While Friday nights are renowned for being the big night for high school football, this Saturday was a pretty exciting day in itself.

In Class AA one of the most evenly matched quarterfinal games played out, in a contest everyone knew would be a battle to the finish. The 6th seeded F-M Hornets scored early on #3 Henninger and never gave up the lead in a 17-6 victory. The win sets up a matchup with Baldwinsville in the Class AA semifinals.

(1) Jamesville-Dewitt vs. (4) Whitesboro

(2) Indian River vs. (3) Nottingham

In Class B, it's a game we saw played out several years in a row with a Section III crown on the line. Saturday, however it was played out in the first round. Cazenovia played host to Westhill in a 2 vs. 7 matchup in the Class B quarterfinals, but the second-seeded Lakers didn't even let the Warriors keep it close, winning 48-6.
