MONTAGUE, LEWIS COUNTY -- A snowmobiler  is now upgraded from critical to serious condition at Upstate University Hospital after a noontime Saturday crash in Montague.

The Lewis County Sheriff's snowmobile patrol says 18 year old Elizabeth Roy, from Greentown, Pennsylvania, was riding on the Culpepper Road Trail when she hit a large rock, hidden by snow.  Her 2005 Ski Doo hit an oncoming snowmobile head on, then became stuck underneath the oncoming sled.   Roy was airlifted to Syracuse in critical condition, but is now improving.

The other snowmobiler, 46 year Willaim Jones, from Slate Hill, in Orange County, is being treated for a broken arm as a result of the crash..
