The Syracuse Orange men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish second in the Big East in 2013 in the conferences coaches' poll. The Orange received a total of 32 points, including two first place votes, to finish behind Notre Dame, who was ranked # 1 in the preseason poll.

Orange senior defenseman Brian Megill has also been named the Big East Preseason co-Defensive Player of the year, sharing the honor for the second straight year with Notre Dame goalie John Kemp.

Megill was also voted on to the All-Big East preseason team, where he's joined by teammate JoJo Marasco. Both players were unanimous choices to the squad.

Last year Megill was a USILA Second Team All-American and an All-BIG EAST First Team selection. Marasco , who was on the All-Big East second team last year, notched 31 points and 19 assists in 2012.

Syracuse will kick off the 2013 season on January 26th with a three-way scrimmage against Holy Cross and Hofstra at the Carrier Dome. They'll take on Albany in the regular season opener on February 17th.
