Utica man charged for allegedly stabbing girlfriend

UTICA -- Utica Police say they responded to a home on the 1100 block of Hammond Avenue, in regards to a domestic dispute, around 6:24 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say they arrested 23-year-old Nizam Rascic for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend on her finger, forearm and shoulder blade.

The woman also sustained several bruises on her arms and back, and a swollen eyebrow, police say.

The woman was treated for injuries at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.

Police charged Rascic with assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon.
