MARTINSBURG, LEWIS COUNTY -- State police say they uncovered a pot growing operation at a home a in the Town of Martinsburg, Lewis County.

Jonathan E. Dunn, 58, and Harry T. Lewis, 66, were arrested by state police Sunday evening at 3250 Gardner Road in Martinsburg after troopers responded to a residence and say they detected a strong odor.

A search of the property uncovered a growing operation with over ten pounds of marijuana believed to be worth approximately $200,000 on the street.

State police told CNY Central that property owner Dunn and tenant Lewis admitted to growing and processing marijuana on the property, including inside the residence and surrounding buildings.

The defendants were charged with a class C felony for criminal possession of marijuana and a class A misdemeanor for unlawful growing of cannabis. Dunn and Lewis were arraigned in Lowville Court and will reappear at a later date.
