The Northeast was 0.6 degrees Fahrenheit above normal during November 2010, making it the 11th consecutive month with above normal average temperatures. The region received 89 percent of its normal precipitation; Maine was the wettest state at 127 percent of normal levels. Despite total levels being slightly below normal, enough precipitation fell to improve drought conditions. Parts of eastern West Virginia and western Maryland moved from severe to moderate drought conditions. A storm on November 8 with gusts of up to 60 miles per hour downed trees and power lines in New Hampshire and Maine, leading to power outages and one fatality.
