A great weekend at Greek Peak   

As you may be aware, we ran a contest on our TV stations at the end of February called “Weekend Getaway – Breakfast with Wayne”.

The ski lifts, lines and slopes at Toggenburg Mountain have been packed over the past few days. Some of the crowds have been due to school vacation week but the Olympics have also put a lot of people into a skiing or snowboarding mood.

Getting back to winter in Central New York   

Snow is melting fast, only to be replaced with some fresh stuff this week.

January thaw doesn't stop CNY skiers   

January thaw is defined as an observed but unexplained temperature rise in mid-winter which melts snow and ice.  I am fresh back from a whirl wind tour of Utah ski resorts. I skied 4 mountains in 4 days and by the end my legs were limp.  There is a fun celebrity ski and board race coming up next month that I wanted to let everyone know about.

Snow is good news for area ski resorts   

Here in Central New York we are accustomed to snow and cold weather, but at least we have a way to enjoy it.

Toggenburg Mountain opens for the season   

Sunday was opening day for skiing at Toggenburg Mountain and plenty of eager skiers hit the slopes when they had doubts just a few weeks ago that they would be able to ski before Christmas.

Ski resorts excited by snowfall   

Many areas in Central New York received its first significant snowfall of the season and for ski fans, it was a thing of beauty.
