NORTH SYRACUSE -- Temperatures are expected to be in the 70 to 80 range this weekend, many people they have Monday off for Memorial Day. That is the perfect combo for opening your very own pool. At Cannon Pool and Spa, this weekend is like their version of the holiday shopping season.

If you stop by the store on Taft Road in North Syracuse, you’ll see people coming and going. Getting the basics to open their pools; anything from a new skimmer to all the chemicals to get that water sparkling again.

Clifford Malzman is the president of Cannon and he says they have staff ready to help.  He also says the pool industry in Syracuse has not felt the effects of the recession.  People are still coming in not only to get their swimming season started, but to also look and price out a new pool.

Malzman says financing is available and prices on pools are lower than they were last year at this time.
