SYRACUSE -- Hoping to capitalize on the growing popularity of farmers' markets and a surge in the "buy local" effort, a new market is coming to Syracuse's Eastwood neighborhood. The market will run Sunday's from 7am-2pm June 24th thru September 30. The market will be set up in the Eastwood Plaza , outside Cafe Kubal.
Matt Godard, owner of Cafe Kubal says, "We're looking for about twenty vendors to start with this, we feel that is a good number to start with." "This is about boosting the buy local effort and we think it will work out very well because there is no other farmers' market operating on Sunday in the Syracuse area," Godard said. The Regional Market is open on Sunday's but the products for sale are mostly of the flea-market variety, not produce.
The Eastwood farmers' market will charge vendors $10.00 per booth. Organizers promise live music every week. Vendors interested in learning more about taking part in the market should email info@cafekubal.com
