An elderly Manlius woman was killed a crash in DeWitt Monday morning.

DeWitt police say 82-year-old Elinor Peth was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

The crash happened around 11:50 a.m. on East Genesee Street near Erie Boulevard when her car slammed into a tree.

Police say their preliminary investigation shows Peth was making a left turn onto East Genesee from Erie Boulevard when she lost control, slamming into another car and striking the tree on East Genesee.

There was only minor damage to the other car and no one else was hurt.

The investigation continues.
