SYRACUSE -- The connection on the parking pay stations in downtown Syracuse that allows credit card payments hasn't gone dead yet, but the city is warning drivers to bring coins to use in the meters just in case the credit card feature is shut down.

The city has taken five bids from companies to replace 270 meters because the technology in the old ones that processes credit cards was supposed to stop working at the end of November. The bids are currently being reviewed.

The Department of Public Works is working with Parkeon, the current pay station vendor, to make sure the meters remain able to accept credit cards during this process.
