TOWN OF DRYDEN -- New York State Police in Ithaca are investigating a fatal car crash that happened on State Route 366 on Sunday afternoon in the Town of Dryden in Tompkins County.

Troopers say 20-year-old Victoria Howell, of Groton, lost control of her vehicle and went into the eastbound lane of Route 366, hitting the vehicle of 48-year-old James Caywood of Elmira.

Howell was taken to Cayuga Medical Center, where State Police say she died of her injuries.

Caywood was uninjured in the crash.

There are no charges at this time.
