ONEIDA -- Oneida City Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred around 5:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Alliance Bank on Route 46 and Route 5 in the City of Oneida. The bank is in the Price Chopper Plaza.

Police say a male suspect entered the bank, handed the teller a note and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police also say he could be armed. The suspect told the teller he was armed, but never showed a weapon and no one was hurt during the incident.

The suspect is described as about 5'7" tall with a medium build and appears to be in his twenties. He was wearing black rim glasses, a black pullover hat, black coat, blue jeans and work boots.

Police think a vehicle described as a gray 4 door pickup truck with a cap or suburban type body belongs to the suspect.

Anyone with any information or that observed the suspect or the vehicle is asked to contact Oneida City Police at 363-2323. All calls will be kept confidential.
