SYRACUSE -- A man was trapped in his car Tuesday night for about 30 minutes after hitting a tree and sliding down an embankment on the 3400 block of East Genesee Street.

Syracuse police say it happened around 9:30 p.m.

The driver was trapped until firefighters arrived to get him out of the car. Police say he was taken to Upstate Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
