Lake snow heading towards Central New York

SYRACUSE -- There is rain coming from the west and a snow event could drop as much as 3 inches on the Syracuse area by 7 PM on Wednesday, according to meteorologist Peter Hall.

As mentioned there is rain headed towards Central New York and it is expected to arrive at about 10 AM.  There is also a chance for a snow squall at about 5 PM when a cold front comes through.

There are lake effect snow warnings for areas east of Lake Ontario, starting Tuesday evening.  People who live in the Syracuse area can expect to see between 1 and 3 inches of new snow by Wednesday night with more expected after that.  Areas north will see more.
