SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse Police Department says that it is investigating a homicide that happened at Essex Street on the west side of Syracuse at 12:01 AM on Tuesday morning.

Police say that the victim, 33-year-old LaJuan Williams, was found shot inside the residence at 204 Essex Street. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are not known at this time, according to police.  They say that the investigation is ongoing and very active.

The Post-Standard of Syracuse reports that Williams and another men survived being shot while they stood on a street early one morning in August 2003.
