Many folks took full advantage of the above-normal temperatures Wednesday by heading over to Onondaga Lake Parkway in Liverpool. Wednesday’s temperatures were in the low to mid 50s, and fell to the low to mid 40s by the end of the day. Numbers like these are well-above-normal, as 32 degrees is the normal high temperature for this time of the year.

Ruth Vanarsdale of Syracuse said “I love it, why go to Florida when you have this here?” Her sentiments were echoed by the many folks we saw out jogging, walking, and biking at the parkway Wednesday.

Since our first measurable snowfall at the Syracuse Hancock Airport on November 18, 2011, we’ve had more days at 50 degrees or above than we’ve had days with at least 1 inch of snow on the ground.

Most folks we spoke with said they hoped the above-normal temperatures, and below-normal snowfall, will continue through the rest of this winter.
